Excuse my derp face. So this is my close friend, Lissa. We've known each other since we were in fourth grade and it's really amazing how our friendship lasted for more than a decade (naks!) now.

Anyhoo, after her insistent demand for a date, we've finally reunited. Well, yay for us! Hee hee. =)

I'm honestly blessed to have this girl in my life. Though she's silent like me, she possesses boldness I do not have. She actually reminds me of King David's story in 2 Samuel 6:14-21 where David shamelessly danced for the Lord. It doesn't matter if people think she's eccentric as long as she does it for God!

She may not know it (but she'll know when she reads this), but she encouraged me to just continue going against the flow for His name in this world (especially in the workplace).

After my Japanese resto date with Lissa, I went to National Bookstore to see if my dream book set, *ehem* C.S. Lewis' Signature Classics *ehem* is still there, waiting for me. Lo and behold, it's still there! That book set sure loves me eh? Lord, overflow! Hee hee. I also went to Powerbooks to greet C.S. Lewis' Mere Christianity and Abolition of Man a warm and happy, "Hello, I declare I'll own you next year." Haha. Lord, touch the hearts of the people reading this. Haha.

After my bookstore hopping, I bought a face mask from Etude House. This is actually my second time to buy an EH item the first one being their lip and cheek tint which I bought two months ago. If you don't know yet, green tea is really good for the skin. After drinking tea, I usually use the used tea bags on my face. It contains antioxidants that does wonders for the skin! I find that process kind of messy so I decided to try this one. Hope this works as good as the natural one. ∞

Last Friday, my mom texted me that I got a mail from PRC regarding the CPA board exam last October. Just got to read it today.

Stuck In Reverse: A Mixtape

Some time last year, after flanking for the nth (I'm exaggerating) time in school, I've created a mix with a theme about sadness, desperation and hope but for some reason deleted it. However, after all the things that had happened to me circa 2011-2012, I've been quite inspired to make similar mix.
  1. The Cave (Mumford & Sons) - "I know my call despite my faults and despite my growing fears."
  2. Holocene (Bon Iver) - I guess Justin Vernon says it all,  "It's partly named after the (geological) era, but it's also the name of a bar in Portland where I had a dark night of the soul... the title is a metaphor for when you're not doing well. But it's also a song about redemption and realizing that you're worth something; that you're special and not special at the same time."
  3. Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want (The Smiths) - The song of desperation. 'Nuff said.
  4. Hiding Tonight (Alex Turner) - For those moments when I'm so down, want to hibernate and postpone life.
  5. Vultures (John Mayer) - John Mayer is my lyrical hero for he possesses the words to my feelings. I also want to include War Of My Life and Gravity but 8tracks disallows including an artist more than once in a mix.
  6. Thrive (Switchfoot) - YES. YES. YES. Can I just say yes to the entire lyrics? We share the same sentiment!
  7. Blackbird (The Beatles) - "Blackbird singing in the dead of night, take these broken wings and learn to fly. All your life, you were only waiting for this moment to arise." I don't know why, but I have an uncanny habit of including a song from the Fab Four whenever I make a mix.
  8. Worn (Tenth Avenue North) - "I'm tired, I'm worn. My heart is heavy from the work it takes to keep on breathing."; "And I know You can give me rest. So I cry out with all that I have left." Ah, the latest addition to my depression playlist.
  9. Fix You (Coldplay) - Le classic. Ha. If this were a person, it would probably be my shoulder to cry on.
You can listen to the mix here.
